Production method
1. Derived from the reaction of diethanol and methanol. It can also be obtained by reacting diethylene glycol monomethyl ether with methyl chloride (or dimethyl sulfate). Refining method: It can be dried with granular sodium hydroxide first, and then refluxed in the presence of calcium hydride, lithium aluminum hydride, sodium borohydride or sodium hydride, and refined by distillation under reduced pressure. The operation should be carried out in a nitrogen stream. If diglyme has an amine-like odor, it can be removed by shaking with a weakly acidic ion exchange resin before drying and distillation. Add 0.01% sodium borohydride during storage to prevent the formation of peroxides.
